Play Dough Motherload
Traditional Play Dough
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 T alum powder
1 cup water
1 T oil
2 T vanilla
a dash or two of food coloring
In a big bowl combine flour, salt and alum. Gradually add the oil and water.
Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly. When it reaches the consistency
of mashed potatoes remove from heat. Add vanilla and food coloring. Divide into
balls and kneed in color.
Tasty Play Dough
2 1/2 cups peanut butter (smooth>
1 cup powdered milk
1 cup honey
1 cup oatmeal
Mix together then mold a little and munch a little.
Fragrant Play Dough
2 1/2 cups flour
1 T alum powder
1/2 cup salt
3 T oil
2 cups boiling water
dash or two food coloring
1 package unsweetened Kool Aid
Combine flour, alum powder and salt. Stir in oil and boiling water. Add food
coloring and Kool Aid.
Plain Old Play Dough
2 cups flour
2 T alum
2 T salt
2 T cooking oil
1 cup boiling water
Mix dry ingredients. Add water and oil. Kneed until mixed. Add water if too
stiff. Add flour if too sticky.
Nature's Own Play Dough
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
2 T oil
2 T cream of tartar
beet, carrot and or spinach juice
Mix dry ingredients. Slowly add oil and water. Cook over low to medium heat
stirring constantly. When dough is still take off stove. Let cool. Knead dough
until it feels like play dough. Knead in spinach juice for green, carrot juice
for orange and/or beet juice for pink.
